Intertwined was proud to co-organise the inaugural Jim Leishman Kids Chess Cup, held at Fire Station Creative in Dunfermline as part of Refugee Festival Scotland 2026.

Named in honour of the Provost of Fife Jim Leishman MBE, the tournament celebrated young chess talent while promoting inclusion, learning, and community spirit. Organised in partnership with Touch Trust and Dunfermline Chess Club, the event welcomed players under 18 to compete in a friendly FIDE-rated blitz tournament.

We are grateful to everyone who took part, supported the event, and helped make this celebration of youth chess such a success. We look forward to building on this wonderful beginning and inspiring even more young people to discover the game.
